This week’s workouts were a lot of fun plus I got some unexpected rest days because we got snowed in.
Sunday I had my dance classes – exotic dance with Rachel and a group exercise belly dance. I love learning new things and seeing the improvements week to week. I’m still super uncoordinated, especially at the belly dance, but I’m determined to get it.
Monday I did reformer pilates as usual. Still love, love, love that. I’ve been practice teaching mat pilates to my clients since my training a few weeks ago. Soon I’ll be able to add reformer work to my training repertoire since my first reformer instructor training course is this weekend. I also taught Bodystep Monday afternoon, despite some excitement getting to the gym since the main road on my side of town was closed for the President’s visit.
Tuesday my only workout was teaching Bodystep.
Wednesday was my favorite workout day. I had some free time so I grabbed 30 mins on the stairmill while watching HGTV and then I got the chance to take Barre Strength. I love that class as well but it’s normally full. This week I got lucky and happened upon an instructor practicing during a non-class time so I was able to join her practice session. I’ve only taken Barre Strength twice now but every time, I want to get certified so maybe I can make that happen eventually.
Thursday we were snowed by the winter storm that came though. It an excellent rest day in the middle of the week, and I took full advantage with lots of lounging and napping.
By Friday, I was getting stir-crazy after not leaving the house since Wednesday, so I took advantage of the snowy driveway and got in a short workout via shoveling.
Saturday was another rest day. I had a few hours of training clients, ran some errands in the afternoon, and finished the day with the SO and some friends before going to see Superunknown play a concert at the Jefferson. They always have an awesomely fun show and it’s nice to get out and be social.
This week so far, I’ve already had my exotic and belly dance classes. I’m hoping to grab some standard cardio in addition to my step classes this week. I’m going to try some small group training led by some other trainers as well. Sometimes I’m motivated to workout on my own but other times, I like someone else to do the thinking (just like everyone else). I’m excited for some new challenges. I’m going to try to get into some additional group exercise classes as well and get some time in the pool. This upcoming weekend I have my first pilates reformer certification class. There are 5 pilates instructor modules to complete going through the training agency I’m using (Balance Body) so after this weekend I’ll have 2 done. I hope to complete the remaining 3 later this spring or during the summer. So that’s the plan for this week. If you see me in the gym, be sure to come say hi!
