I’m now 14 days into my crazy teaching streak.  I’ve had one day off teaching in the last 2 weeks and that was for TRX training which ended up being a full day of working out.  This week, I’ll actually get 2 rest days but then I’m going to GRIT training over the weekend.  The week after that, I plan to finally give my body some much needed rest.

Sunday’s TRX training was super fun and very informative.  I already knew several TRX exercises but I learned so many more and have spent this week integrating more TRX exercises into my training plans.  Monday, I had my standard Bodystep class at ACAC in the morning, then taught step again in the afternoon with another instructor at Gold’s, and finished the day with a pump class ACAC.  Tuesday morning, I subbed a pump class at ACAC and taught my regular step class in the afternoon.  Wednesday, I subbed pump again at ACAC, then I spent Wednesday night learning the first 5 tracks of Bodypump 86 for the launch Thursday evening.  I continued reviewing choreography Thursday on the stepmill and the treadmill then had a great launch Thursday evening.  Late night Thursday was spent learning the last 5 tracks of Bodypump 86 so I could teach the whole class Friday morning.  Thankfully, everything went well in Friday mornings class.  I spent my free time during the day reviewing choreography for Bodyflow to teach in the evening and familiarizing myself with Bodystep choreography for launch Saturday morning.  Late Friday and early Saturday morning was spent learning and reviewing Bodystep 92 choreography for the launch at Golds.

Launch times are always a little crazy and every time I wonder how I’m going to learn and retain all the new choreography while remembering old choreography as well, but every time it comes together.  I have one more launch this go-round and that is Bodystep 92 at ACAC towards the end of August.  I am really liking all the music and choreography in this round of releases so that makes learning the tracks easier.  If you’d like to try a new LesMills program, launch time is really the time to do so.  We teach the same release every class for about 2 weeks so everyone  has a chance to learn it.

Besides teaching like crazy over the last few weeks, I’ve been trying to keep my own workouts to a minimum to give my body as much recovery time as possible.  I keep the cardio low impact and at a moderate intensity and usually try to get it done while I’m reviewing choreography – two birds with one stone and all that.  This week I’ll be spending my spare time working on the choreography for GRIT training this upcoming weekend.  I hope to get in a few short cardio sessions as well and maybe an easy yoga class.  I also need to spend some good time foam rolling since I’m a little tight from all the teaching lately.
