We used to eat Bob Evan’s turkey sausage and loved it – it had a short ingredient list made up of natural foods and seasonings and it tasted great. Then it stopped being carried in our local grocery stores – oh the HORROR! We tried some other brands but the taste just wasn’t the same, so I went on the hunt for a breakfast sausage recipe and found one on allrecipes.com. After a few tweaks due to missing ingredients and personal taste preferences, my boyfriend has declared the final product to be a winner so here it is…
Turkey Breakfast Sausage

Ingredients
- 1t dried sage
- 1-1/4t salt
- 1/2t black pepper
- 1/8t dried thyme
- 2t pure maple syrup
- 1/8t crushed red pepper
- 1 pinch ground cloves
- 1-1/4lb 99% lean ground turkey
Directions
- In a gallon size ziploc bag mix spices, syrup, and ground turkey until everything is well combined.
- (Optional) Place ground turkey mixture in the refrigerator for 8 hours.
- Form ground turkey mixture into small patties.
- Saute the patties in a large skillet over medium heat for 5 minutes per side or until done.
